The story of Meccanica System begins with a passion for mechanical technical drawing. A passion that, since high school, has united the two founding partners Gianni Antenucci and Marco De Luca: starting from a family office, together they gradually created a company that today employs thirty people, including engineers and technicians, working on engineering design at an international scale.
Meccanica System is based in Prato, on Via Sila. Founded in 1997, designing textile machinery, moving to today where the company is a leader in the rail, marine, water treatment, energy, and mechanical-textile sectors.
In this last field, Meccanica System has a particular specialization in the regeneration of textile waste, supporting the Prato district in all its needs.
Over the years, the company has successfully managed the design of projects for internationally renowned companies: Hitachi Rail, Fincantieri, Enel Green Power, Hera, Bombardier Transportation, Alstom Transportation.
In railway engineering, it is worth noting or designing of the latest generation Frecciarossa ETR 1000, as well as metro systems around the world, from Taipei to Miami, from Rome to Washington.
In the marine sector, the company has worked on the design of systems for numerous cruise ships such as the Sun Princess Sphere, Carnival ACE, and those of Norwegian Cruise Line.
These projects have earned Meccanica System international credibility.
The company boasts numerous national patents, which over the years have reinforced its capacity for innovation. Among these is a particular focus on environmental and energy-related issues — a true cornerstone of Meccanica System’s engineering design activities. Patent capability is ensured through continuous staff training and the constant pursuit of generational renewal. Young engineers and technicians continue to be hired by Meccanica System, ensuring them a path of professional growth and providing the company with a constant drive for research and innovation. There is also a strong relationship with high schools and universities, with many internships and training placements hosted each year.
